Your porter carries up to 10 kg per trekker in a shared duffel, and the Lukla flight has a strict 15 kg total baggage limit — so pack smart.
Clothing
- Moisture-wicking base layers (top and bottom)
- Fleece mid-layer and insulated down jacket
- Waterproof shell jacket and trousers
- Trekking trousers and shorts
- Warm hat, sun hat, buff, liner and insulated gloves
- Broken-in waterproof hiking boots and camp shoes
Gear
- Four-season sleeping bag (rentable in Kathmandu)
- Trekking poles, headlamp, 30–40 L daypack
- Water bottles and purification tablets
- Sunglasses (UV400), high-SPF sunscreen and lip balm
Documents & health
- Passport, visa and passport photos for permits
- Travel insurance covering heli-evacuation to 6,000 m
- Personal medications, blister kit and altitude medication (consult your doctor)
