The Panchase Trek is a scenic and peaceful journey in Nepal's Annapurna region, offering stunning views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges. This short, moderate trek typically takes 3-4 days, making it ideal for those with limited time or seeking a quieter alternative to more popular treks.

Starting from the lakeside city of Pokhara, trekkers hike through picturesque villages, experiencing the culture and lifestyle of the Gurung and Magar communities. The trail passes through lush rhododendron and oak forests, with chances to spot wildlife like langur monkeys and various bird species.

A highlight of the trek is Panchase Bhanjyang, which offers panoramic views of the Annapurna range, Machhapuchhre, and other peaks. Known for its serene atmosphere and natural beauty, this trek combines mountain views, forest walks, and cultural encounters. The best times for the trek are spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November), when the weather is clear and dry. Accessible to trekkers with average fitness levels, the Panchase Trek promises a memorable experience close to Pokhara, blending scenic beauty, tranquility, and cultural richness.

    Day-by-day itinerary

    1. Day 1

      Cross Fewa Lake by Boating and Hike to Phumdi Bhumdi (1,650m)

      Duration: 5 Hours. Your adventure begins with a serene boat ride across the picturesque Fewa Lake in Pokhara, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding hills and reflections of the Annapurna range on the water. After reaching the opposite shore, you will begin a steady hike through lush forests, terraced fields, and traditional villages. The trail gradually ascends, rewarding you with stunning views of the Pokhara Valley and distant peaks. After approximately five hours of trekking, you will arrive at Phumdi Bhumdi, a charming hilltop village surrounded by dense greenery. Overnight in Phumdi Bhumdi.

    2. Day 2

      Trek from Phumdi Bhumdi to Panchase (2,030m)

      Duration: 4-5 Hours. After breakfast, the trek continues as you ascend further toward Panchase, a revered area known for its spiritual significance and stunning panoramic views. The trail weaves through rhododendron forests and offers glimpses of snow-capped peaks, including Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and Machhapuchhre (Fishtail). As you approach Panchase, the landscape becomes more open, revealing a breathtaking Himalayan panorama. Panchase is also home to a sacred temple and stupas, adding a cultural dimension to the journey. You’ll spend the night here, enjoying the tranquility and incredible vistas.

    3. Day 3

      Trek from Panchase to Bhadaure and Return to Pokhara by Bus

      On the final day, the trek descends to Bhadaure, a traditional village surrounded by terraced farmland. The downhill trail passes through vibrant forests and small settlements, offering a chance to interact with locals and experience their way of life. After reaching Bhadaure, you will board a bus for a scenic drive back to Pokhara. Once in Pokhara, you can relax by the lakeside, reflect on the trek, and celebrate the completion of this short yet rewarding adventure.
